Finger Lakes Wine Festival

WINE FESTIVAL CONSIDERED 'HIDDEN GEM' AMONG NATIONAL PUBLICATIONS

The Finger Lakes Wine Festival, presented by Yancey's Fancy New York's Artisan Cheese continues to attract the attention of the national media. The Festival, held annually at Watkins Glen International, is considered the largest New York Wine celebration and will take place this year July 18-20. Tickets are on-sale now and can be purchased at the advance price until June 27th.

The spring issue of REAL SIMPLE Travel, available now through May 14, 2008, most recently wrote an article titled "10 Hidden Gems in the United States." Patricia Shultz, author of 1000 Places to See Before You Die, writes about New York's Finger Lakes, and lists the Finger Lakes Wine Festival as a place to see when planning a trip to the region.

USA Today has featured several mentions about the wine festival over the past few months, while the New York Times mentioned the festival's appeal in a feature article for their lifestyle section last summer. Recently, MSN Lifestyle, talked about the festival in The Wine Life section of the online publication. In March, Wine Enthusiast put together a calendar of recommended wine events listing the Festival, while Frommer's New York State 3rd edition, an acclaimed travel/vacation guide, also covered the popular tourist event.

Located in the heart of the Finger Lakes, the Finger Lakes Wine Festival presented by Yancey's Fancy Artisan Cheese promotes two of the top industries in Upstate New York, fine wines and exceptional agricultural products. Eighty wineries are slated to attend, in addition to a variety of vendors from throughout the country—representing artisans, jewelers, culinary products, displays and wine accessories. A comprehensive line up of wine seminars, live cooking demonstrations, and hands-on culinary classes are scheduled.

The celebration kicks-off Friday evening with fireworks, wine, and togas at "Yancey's Fancy Cheese Launch of the Lakes", and continues Saturday and Sunday. Camping on Festival grounds, shuttle service to and from area hotels, and plenty of free parking are all available. For more information call 866-461-7223 or visit www.flwinefest.com
